Do you believe that God is with you right now?

Throughout the gospels we see the disciples struggle with this. God is right there with them, they have left everything to follow Him, and still they are amazed when they realize it. We do need to cut them some slack though. Growing up in those days they were taught that God lived in Jerusalem in a really special house that people had built just for Him. You would never see God but at some point in life, if you were able, you might have the chance to see where God lived. The idea of God being right there with you was completely foreign to them.
I was blessed to grow up being taught that God was right there with me. When I was taught to pray I was told to have a conversation with God. I’m truly thankful that the idea of God being in a “box” in Jerusalem was only something I learned when studying church history.
There is something about being human that makes us want to put God in a box. Humanity’s challenge most often centers around our idea that putting God into a place where we can have more control…makes perfect sense.
Where is God in your life? Have you found convenient places for God to reside? Is God welcome everywhere or do you prefer to invite Him to the places you have specially prepared?

“I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strong roots in love,”
