Amazing

Last week my nephew Easton and I were exploring a creek and he discovered a broken fishing rod.  The reel was rusted and caked with mud, there was no line, and the top of the rod was missing it’s upper part.  Easton was amazed with his discovery and, after using it briefly to catch some pretend fish, he insisted on taking it home to give it to the real fisherman in our family…my father.

Some of my favorite moments being an uncle are when I get to embark on simple  adventures with my nephews.  They can find amazing things everywhere and often I wouldn’t recognize the significance of those things were it not for their fresh perspectives.

We (humanity) have made our understanding of worship so very complex. So Will I, by Hillsong United, is a song that unravels that complexity in a truly beautiful way. There are so many creative versions of this song. Check out this one from Cross Worship!

Many of us have been challenged by Covid to discover new ways to worship. The truth is that the potential for worship is unlimited because worship is directly tied to God’s presence. We become consumed in worship when God’s invisible qualities are clearly seen…because God is amazing. Worship is in the moment when experiencing God creates an inspired response. It is in that inspired response that you reveal God to others.

God is everywhere, let us see God revealed and we will find ourselves revealing God to the world. This is our call to worship.

“Ever since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—God’s eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, because they are understood through the things God has made. So humans are without excuse.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭CEB‬‬
