Find a stool or chair that is easily moved and take it into a room that you are really familiar with. Try to choose a space that you are in frequently most days. Put your stool or chair in a place in this room where there is never a place to sit. Take a seat, be still, and look around. (Sitting in the floor is totally acceptable as well)

Your room will look different. You may notice things that you haven’t seen in a long time. Some stuff may look slightly out of place, strange but yet familiar. This is your room from a new perspective and you may even find that you like the view.
When Jesus taught people about God’s Kingdom they often had difficulty understanding what he was sharing. A big part of this challenge is the sheer immensity of God’s creation.
““Don’t you understand this parable? Then how will you understand all the parables?” Mark 4:13 CEB
The Kingdom of God is huge and, like a room, something we are completely immersed in. There are many different places we can “sit” , each providing an amazingly unique point of view.
God always has something new to show us. We can spend a lifetime exploring and in constant amazement of what we discover. New insight and an expanding understanding of God’s world is always just a slight change of perspective away. Stay amazed! When everything is too familiar, when you understand it all, turn around in your seat or choose to sit in a different place. It will be worth the sacrifice in comfort to experience that which is revealed!
“My Father’s house has room to spare. If that weren’t the case, would I have told you that I’m going to prepare a place for you?” John 14:2 CEB
